The largest conference in the world that focuses exclusively on SME financing
About the Global SME Finance Forum
The Global SME Finance Forum is the SME Finance Forum’s annual flagship event.
Since its first edition in 2015, this acclaimed conference has featured the latest innovations and good practices in SME Finance.
It is the world’s leading, technically oriented, geographically diverse platform focused solely on scaling SME financing. The Global Forum takes place in a different country each year (usually G20 presidency country), attracting C-level industry leaders from 80-100 countries, and leading policymakers and regulators. The meeting is known for bringing to the forefront key trends and innovations in the field, from examining the potential for bank-fintech partnerships back in 2015 (when most were talking about bank-fintech competition), to focusing on bringing green and sustainable financing down to the SME level in recent years’ gatherings.
In History

The G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) in December 2024 released its Action Plan for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Financing.
Developed under the G20 Brazilian Presidency, it builds upon the first action plan delivered in 2015, expanding the scope to address challenges hindering financial service providers from adequately serving MSMEs. The GPFI will also develop a framework for the measurement of implementation under the G20 South African Presidency.
The Global SME Finance Forum 2025, hosted in Johannesburg during the G20 South Africa Presidency will present GPFI’s comprehensive roadmap to address the systemic barriers hindering SME’s access to finance.
Co-hosts
The Global SME Finance Forum 2023 was co-hosted by our member SIDBI and the Indian Banks' Association.
I’m a big believer in harnessing technology to improve performance, efficiency, compliance and reliability. It’s win-win-win: better business performance, more jobs, greater inclusion, better lender performance and better capital deployment.
